As 2010 ushers in a new decade, I hope with all sincerity that “The Teens” will be prosperous for all of you.
I would also like to thank all of you for your patronage of the Wine Country Inn over the past 17 months. We have had a successful summer with many visitors, both from Colorado and out of state, exploring all that Palisade has to offer. The vineyards produced an abundance of grapes this year and peaches were golden and succulent.
As of this writing, we are experiencing a cold spell in the Grande Valley which we haven’t experienced in the last 48 years. December recorded 14 inches of snow, which means that our local ski resort is doing brisk business. Powderhorn is up and running and the Wine Country Inn has some great packages, which include shuttle service to the ski area. It’s certainly a great way to experience excellent skiing and enjoy some of the local wineries the next day.
Our big news for January is that we are opening our lounge. After listening to our guests it became obvious that the Wine Country Inn was ready to take the next step and become a full service hotel offering more than just our wine hour. New furniture has been ordered and we are eagerly anticipating its arrival. We have constructed a bar, which was silently inaugurated on December 31. Our Tapestry Lounge opened on January 15, offering Tapas, Light Fare and Cocktails. We have created an intimate atmosphere for all of you to enjoy a glass of wine, cocktails and some great food.
I encourage everybody to take a look on our website at all the packages we have created. Angella, our Director of Sales, has been very creative and came up with some fun packages, all of which can be enjoyed during our colder winter months as well when spring comes upon us.
We are looking forward to a busy 2010 and hope that all of you will grace us with a visit once again.
Jerome Strack
General Manager
